State of the Art / Art of the State returns tomorrow to the Cameron Art Museum

WILMINGTON, North Carolina (PRESS RELEASE) – Stayou from there Art/Art from Stayou amounts to Cameron Art Museum tomorrow, April 1, with a 24 hours Art Event.

All artists currently living in or originating from the staffte of North Carolina are invited to bring a single work of art to be installed at the museum between Friday, April 1, 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 2, 5:00 p.m. All artArtists must be present with their work, without exception. Inspired by the famous curator Walter Hopps, the design of this project offers all participants arte equal chance of meeting an important curator working in the field of art and show their work to all guest curators and the public when the exhibition opens on Saturday, April 9.

During the 24 hours Art Eventa nationally recognized curator will be on hand to greet each artist. This year, CAM is pleased to welcome Alejo Benedetti from the Crystal Bridges Museum of American ArtDr. Maia Nuku from the Metropolitan Museum of ArtMichael Rooks of the High Museum of Art Atlanta.

Cameron Art The museum will remain open to the public for 24 hours with programming and events for everyone, including readings, spoken word, music, drag queens, film screenings, yoga and more. A suggested donation of $10 is requested. View the full program HERE.

The exhibition Stayou from there Art/Art from Stayou opens to the public on Saturday April 9 and ends on Sunday September 13.

Members-only preview on Friday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Member visits at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
